Did San Esteban mining company (the Chilean mine where the miners were trapped) contribute towards rescue of the Chilean miners? So… it has been nearly half a year since the Chilean miners where trapped and rescued by a very well coordinated effort from all sectors pulling together.  The Government has claimed to have spent more than £13 million on the operation but what has San Esteban contributed? Well apparently they have now come to an agreement and the owners will make a pay out of £3.2 million as reported by BBC news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-17278856

But this is not the end of the story! The Chilean miners are suing the Government to allow the mine to remain open when in their opinion it was clearly dangerous to do so.

Should the miners receive compensation from the Government or the mining company?  Or both?
